Napkin - from Tolmin to Idrija

Idrija lace - a unique hand-made masterpiece, which has been created by diligent Idrija lacemakers for three centuries. It is the source of all kinds of ideas and creativity. Intertwining threads create countless bobbin lace and life stories.

FROM TOLMIN TO IDRIJA

The napkin reminds of the road from Tolmin to Idrija, which is winding but extremely beautiful with picturesque nature and wonderful views. The napkin is made of cotton thread in the Idrija narrow tape lace technique, and instead of cars, 6 pairs of bobbins ride on it. If we were to measure the time it takes to make a napkin, we would drive from Tolmin to Idrija about five times.

The pattern was custom drawn by Tina Koder Gajzar for the Idrija Tourist Board.

The lace was made by Milena Kalan Frančeškin.

It is made of cotton thread.
